GERMANY (Hamburg) - Farmhouse chicken terrine, truffle gravy, wild boar ragout and stripes of prime rib of beef are on the menu when the top restaurant "DIE BANK" in Hamburg invites to a four-course Bordeaux dinner on Sunday, February 1st, 2009. Apart from the Bank sommelier and restaurant manager, Jannis Rantos, David Elswood, the international head of Christie´s wine department, is in charge of the wines at this evening.
Christie´s is leading the market on the field of international wine auctions. In 2008, the auction house hosted nearly 40 wine auctions in the US, Europe and Asia, and closed the year with a total revenue of 41 million Euros which, in this category, is the third- highest result in Christie´s company history.
David Elswood has been working as wine expert at the auctioneer´s headquarters in London since the mid-eighties. He will answer the questions of the guests in Hamburg and he is also available for giving a couple of expert advice.
The wines of this evening will be exclusively served in Magnum bottles and with a corresponding four- course menu. Only a limited number of seats is available.
