2011 San Leonardo and 2013 Sassicaia

ITALY (Trentino) – Italy’s influential wine guides proclaimed 2017 the Year of Bordeaux Blends. What does this mean? It is a reminiscence of the top wines found on the markets. We are talking about cuvees like San Leonardo, the flagship, from the estate with the same name, which is located at Borghetto, Trentino, which as a rule contain about 60 percent of Cabernet Sauvignon, 30 percent of Cabernet Franc, and 10 percent of Merlot, like a Bordeaux wine. So the judgement was unanimously, as usual. San Leonardo and Sassicaia were given the top scores by the Bibenda, Doctorwine, Espresso, Gambero Rosso, Maroni, Slowine, Veronelli, and Vitae wine guides.
