On the occasion of the General Assembly in the Durbacher Winzergenossenschaft e. G., the WG Schliengen announced their rejoining

GERMANY (Karlsruhe)  “The knot is loosened, but it is not broken yet,” Sonja Hoferlin, managing director of the Baden Wine GmbH*, summarizes the current situation of the Baden wine advertising. Existing members, non-members and those members who filed their notice of termination, and yet have already prepared their resignation (we reported), are back at the joint negotiating table. First proposals on how to meet the needs of even the biggest wine producers in the advertising community in the future are at hand, and are discussed in the association board of Baden wine. The first Markgräfler Winzergenossenschaft Schliengen-Mullheim e. G., which has announced its re-entry and hence wants to set an important example in favor of a joint wine advertising, also took a significant step this week.

The withdrawal of the resignation outspoken in December 2009 was announced this week on the occasion of the General Assembly in Durbacher Winzergenossenschaft e. G. Wolfgang Grether, managing board member of the WG Schliengen, mentioned the reasons: “We have confidence in the Baden wine advertising and its new structures. The presented approach is promising, we are on the right track.”

This cautious optimism is also reflected in the current intense conversations. On the part of the Baden wine, Höferlin is in charge of these conversations as well as any other activities. Loosening the knots while not losing sight of the thread is the great task of the association founded in 2009. “My goal is that we all act in concert. The slogan should be: Unravel the knot, do not destroy! We will approach this with tenacity and tact and are confident that the loose threads can be re-interlaced to a tear-proof wire,” says Sonja Höferlin.

After some winegrowers cooperatives and quit in the past year and the Baden wine cellar Breisach in early September, there is now new movement in the circle of existing, and non-members. The most recent conversations serve as a good basis to further reach out to each other. The Baden Wine GmbH stresses that they want to organize this for the purpose of all. “We know that it is a difficult period for all involved. I wish that our members can work up the courage and optimism to continue to commit to Baden wine advertising,” says Höferlin.

The confidence in the people involved to find a sustainable solution, which would be a firm desire of all involved in the talks, would be important above all. They are aware that a solution will not be found easy and will probably require concessions from several members. “It is the only way to successfully advertise for Baden wines on a voluntary basis in the future. Everyone benefits from this and marks the red thread and foundation of all endeavors for me,” stresses Höferlin. (red.yoopress)
