Their plans include presentations in London, Toronto or Copenhagen, for example. The internship program WineXperience for international professionals is supposed to be intensified and the brand "Generation Riesling" to be further established with joint presentations for example at summer wine parties in the Riesling Lounges of Germany's big cities.
DWI-director Monika Reule praised the ambition of the young representatives for their wines from German wine-growing regions: "We are glad that we have about 300 members for our Generation Riesling by now. They continuously contribute to the rejuvenation of our wine's image nationally as well as internationally".
The forum also enabled participants to debate successful junior vintner's ideas and to learn more about topics like "professional media work" or "Exports for beginners" in various presentations and workshops.

Brief profile of Generation Riesling:
Young, innovative, open: such is the description of the members of "Generation Riesling" at many presentations inside and outside of the country. They represent an excellently trained and internationally open as well as ambitious generation of young supporters of German viticulture, whether as vintners, managers or cellar masters in an association or winery. The age maximum is 35 years.
The German Wine Institute (DWI - Deutsches Weininstitut) founded the "Generation Riesling"-initiative to offer a national and international platform for the young wine scene, far away from existing groups.
All members of the initiative are prepared to present themselves as ambassadors of modern, high-quality and dynamic wine production in Germany, without having to hide their personality. The term puts Riesling in the spotlight as Germany's current most popular vine type, in order to get attention for this kind of wine nationally and internationally, however, it also includes vintners that prefer Silvaner, Lemberger, Burgundy or other vine types.
