The union's meeting in Wuerttemberg was also used to practically inform members, among others at the seminars "Wooden chips" and "New breeding of vines"

GERMANY (Weinsberg) - More than 100 members of the Sommelier Union Deutschland e.V. (Sommelier Union Germany - registered association) traveled to the state winery Weinsberg last weekend to learn more about their association's activities. Thus, the union's president Bernd Glauben took the chance and recalled a number of initiatives and activities after the greeting of the winery's director, Dr. Günter Bäder.

"The success of our members at national and international competitions, which are based on our committed support of junior talents and our competent supply of further education, show clearly that the Sommelier Union is set up right and the fact that it can find itself among the top organizations worldwide", Bernd Glauben pointed out in his greeting speech. "For instance, we will be represented by Jürgen Fendt, Restaurant Bareiss at the world championship of sommeliers next year in Chile", confirms Bernd Glauben happily.

In his speech, Bernd Glauben also introduced the new concept of the Sommelier-Party on the occasion of the ProWein in Düsseldorf. "After the so far successful events in the Kesselhaus, this year the party will take place in the Nachtresidenz with the motto "Chillout Weißrot". "This new location will hopefully help provide more free space for chats, ensuring, however that the party is still a party", explains Glauben.

After Glaubens reception, it was time for an election of two new co-chairs. Peer Holm and Christian Frens were voted unanimously. The very successful trips, organized for years by Christine Balais, will also be a part of the Sommelier Union's events this year with attractive destinations. Later, Kristine Bäder, representative chief editor of the Sommelier Magazine mentioned past and future topics for the union's own magazine.

Closing the official part of the union's meeting, president Bernd Glauben was particularly delighted about the growing number of partners and sponsors, who were introduced to the guests. Besides the renowned champagne house Laurent-Perrier, in Germany represented by Thomas Schreiner, also the beer brand "Hövels Original" and the coffee brand "Nespresso" will support the work of the sommeliers union in the future.
