GERMANY (Rheingau - Schloss Johannisberg) - Historical century-rare tastings of the Prädikatsweingüter are demonstrating the longevity and greatness of the Riesling among the great wines in the world.

David Schildknecht, with the mercy of the German "tasters" of Robert Parker says: "Riesling is the most extraordinary natural substance I know and without which the aroma and gusto one feels when eating could not be possible."

So, one takes Riesling wines from the greatest vintages of the past century and of the best origins in Germany together with 22 of the first-class Riesling producers from German wine growing regions and 7 of the most well-known wine experts from the whole world.

The result is undoubtedly an overwhelming plea for Riesling as a durable, inimitable, versatile and fascinating types of vine with a great past and a great future. And a confirmation of the German top wine among the great wines in the world.

We are quoting the opinions of two of the 7 jurors:

Dieter Braatz, Germany: "Today it was proven that Riesling is a very special type of vine. This was proven over a century long. It was proven for dry, sweet and for noble sweet Rieslings. This was a marketing act for the Riesling. Thank you."

David Schildknecht, USA: "Thank you to all vintagers for an unforgettable tasting. As a person who writes about wine, you really have to show some respect to such complexity: The wines still bring the same pleasure as young Rieslings. And that is this connection of complexity of the age with a young freshness and juiciness, prime fruitiness, that is something only the Riesling can do and what only you can do. Thank you very much."

Other jurors were: Jancis Robinson M.W., England / Katsuyuki Tanaka, Japan / Michel Bettane, France / Gian Luca Mazzella, Italy / Bruce Sanderson, USA. All of them were grateful for participating and confirm that they are fascinated by the Riesling and that in its bottle it is durable. (red.yoopress)
