GERMANY (Gau-Algesheim) - Stefanie Kreß, 31, is the new press officer of the Association of Prädikat Wine Estates (VDP) in Gau-Algesheim. Mrs. Kreß studied sociology, political science and education at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms University in Bonn. After her graduation as Master of Arts in 2005, Mrs. Kreß gained experience in different branches in PR and event management and in human resources. While working at the German Winegrowers’ Association in Bonn, she developed a special affinity for wine and is therefore delighted to return to the wine industry and to vigorously implement public relations of the VDP.

Despite ProWein stress and completing of the change of staff, both women found time to give us a short statement:

YOOPRESS: Mrs. Stumpf, what is your conclusion after 4 years of public relations at the VDP?

M. STUMPF: Since this job was my first job after university, it was something very special to me and I gained a lot of experience, but it also was a lot of fun. When I think of the last 4 years, I can think of many moments and circumstances of which I will remember my whole lifetime.

YOOPRESS: What piece of advice can you give your successor?

M. STUMPF: First, I would wish my successor good luck and that she takes much pleasure in new challenges. Since you are dealing with different people at the press department of the VDP, patience is a quality that is sometimes in high demand. However, the focus is also always on having fun working and she won’t be disappointed.

YOOPRESS: You will take a different direction. What will be next – Can you tell us more about that?

M. STUMPF: The “medienagenten” agency from Bad Dürkheim in the Pfalz region asked me if I would like to support the development of their PR department. After many years of public relations in an association, the work within an agency poses a new challenge for me that I would like to accept. Since the “medienagenten” have many clients from the wine industry, I remain faithful to the industry of course.

YOOPRESS: Mrs. Kreß, do you know what to expect?

S. KREß: I think so! After graduation, I worked at the German Public Relations Association (DPRG) in Bonn, the German Winegrowers’ Association in Bonn and at ITB Consulting, a recruitment agency in Bonn and the Stiftung Lesen in Mainz. Therefore, by working in these different areas, I have gained diverse insights and experiences, also beyond the PR area, which all are a great contribution to my new task as a new press officer of the Association of Prädikat Wine Estates.

YOOPRESS: What are you looking forward to?

S. KREß: By working at German Winegrowers' Association, I developed a special affinity for wine and I am therefore looking forward to returning to the great family of the wine industry, and to my new, exciting and diverse work at the Association of VDP, of course.

YOOPRESS: Thank you for your time and we wish all the best for the future.

Together with Melanie Stumpf and Hilke Nagel, Stefanie Kreß will attend her first press events at the ProWein from March 27th to 29th 2011, and will be available as contact person there. (red.yoopress)
