GERMANY (Würzburg) – The members of the Association of German Predicate Wine Estates (Verband Deutscher Prädikatsweingüter, VDP) are introducing in the whole of Germany a new model to classify wines. The role of the vineyards the best wines come from is to be strengthened, and the middle segment is to be structured clearer. In short: from the 2012 vintage on, the “seal of quality” is no longer called “Kabinett trocken” (cabinet dry) and “Spätlese trocken” (late vintage dry) but VDP.ERSTE LAGE ®.
