After the changeover, the WEINELF increased its speed. A foul to the Rhinehesse vintager Peter Kaul lead to a penalty. WEINELF newbie Pascal Sohns from the winery Sohns in the Rhinegau took advantage of this penalty. Shortly after that, Sohns was ahead thanks to his "head" after a wonderful cross of Rolf Stocké. The WEINELF cheered a lot, however not long. A Sunday kick from a sharp angle lead to the 2:2. WEINELF goalkeeper Jürgen Fladung was helpless and could only see the ball flying by him. The 2:2 would have been a perfect tie for this friendship game, however, neither of the teams wanted to leave it at that. Towards the end, there were chances for both of the teams. However, it was only the WEINELF, again lead by Pascal Sohns, that managed another goal for the 3:2 final result.
As consolation for the loss and thus the final games of the Spvgg soccer team, there was a tasting stand of the WEINELF. In cooperation with the Campus Geisenheim GmbH, wines of the WEINELF vintagers were served.
The game of the soccer team of top chefs against a selection of the DFB-branch, which took place after the WEINELF's game, ended with a 9:1 for the DFB (Deutscher Fussball Bund - German Football Association). There, not even the support of the former national player Renate Lingor helped the soccer chefs. A joint wine-pleasure-alliance is what connected the soccer chefs and the WEINELF.
In the pool of the WEINELF, besides the trainer Lothar Böhm, were among others the Rhinehesse vintager Kristian Dautermann, Philipp Wittmann and Peter Kaul, wine journalist Steffen Mauser, wine salesman Nedjelko Mrcela, Michael Ludwig from the research department Geisenheim, WEINELF president Norbert Heine, his vice president Robert Lönarz from the Association of German Oenologists, the Rhinegau vintager Andreas Spreitzer, Peter Kühn and Pascal Sohns. Also in the team were WEINELF goalkeeper Jürgen Fladung, team doctor Peter Wanner, team manager Claus Gerstadt, Rolf Stocké from Erbslöh, the Rhinegau artist Michael Apitz as well as Andreas Kaul from the German Wine Institute.
