GERMANY (Munich/Wuerzburg) - It started with a spontaneous idea in Wuerzburg. Sandra and Ludwig Knoll, the owners of the winery am Stein, had invited the wine journalist Rudolf Knoll over. Somehow, they all started talking about another Knoll guy, who is very well known for his wines in Wachau. "We should all meet up sometime", said one of the Knoll guys in Wuerzburg. The journalist Knoll promised to ask the Wachau Knoll as soon as possible. The latter was very pleased to be invited of course and soon they will all meet up.

The "World Premiere" will start on Friday, November 26, at 7PM at the Retter's at the Viktualienmarkt (daily market and square in Munich). Together with a six-course-meal that was planned by boss Nicole Retter, the two winemakers will present their strongest wines (altogether only 59 Euro). The wine journalist will be the host of the evening and he will disclose that he himself acted as a winemaker. Through the Munich media, the Knoll team will try to gather together interested Knolls from the Bavarian state capital. But of course, every non-Knoll is invited to have some Silvaner Alte Rebe, Gruene Veltliner Auslese, char filet and deer back as well as other specialties.

To be continued! One day later, the Knoll-trio will turn into a quartett with Ludwig Knoll's wife and they will turn Wuerzburg upside down. Saturday, November 27, the Association of German Quality and Praedikat Wine Estates (VDP - Verband Deutscher Qualitaets- und Praedikatsweingueter) will host its "Open wine cellar night". While the wineries Buergerspital, Juliusspital and Staatlicher Hofkeller invite passers-by to see their wine treasures, the winery am Stein offers a wine tasting Franken-Wachau and happy hosts as well as a flying buffet (59 Euro/per person). By the way, Franconia is also hoping to find a couple of Wuerzburg Knolls. (r.knoll)
