The VINEUS Wine Culture Award goes to the Second Round

About 35 well-known wine and food experts from all over Austria have entered their preferred VINEUS candidates. Those are people and businesses that in particular appreciate and promote Austrian wine, and thus shape the culture of wine in Austria. Among the 140 proposals, multiple entries won. The five winemakers have been determined via calls and a tasting which took place afterwards. The independent professional taster Master of Wine Roman Horvath was among the tasters.

The voting will take place online at www.vineus.at from February 7th to March 7th 2011, and the audience will decide who will take the VINEUS awards home. Five candidates can be chosen from every category, except “lifetime achievement”. Here, the majority of the experts vote was already crucial, it is already certain who will win the lifetime achievement award 2011 and will remain locked until opening of the VINEUS-gala.

As from January 7th, the media partners Kurier, Profil, A la Carte and ÖGZ report about The Wine Award and its candidates. Those who vote online have the chance to receive two tickets to the VINEUS- gala and its prominent guests from the wine and food industry. Five pairs of two tickets can be won. At Kurier.at,  you can win packages and wines of the nominated wineries. Römerquelle and American Express are also supporting the event.
