My car, my art, my wine: Just right for the renowned "Wine Ball", guests can win a vineyard at the event - the only thing they have to do is to find the right ground of the site Hattenheimer Hassel in a tasting of three Rhinegau samples. The winner will be announced in the same night and the prize is a really special one: An elegant Rhinegau Riesling with individual equipment. The VDP Winery Hans Lang is in charge of the vineyard.
Since 2010, the WINZERLOGE (vintner lodge) has been presenting renowned Rhinegau wineries to wine friends. These wineries are helping to make the dream of an own vineyard come true. Whether it is 200 square meters or 1000 - the WinzerLoge is supporting the winemakers with their dream: When it comes to choosing the vineyard, what to grow, they help with selecting the bottle and corks, designing the label, storage etc.
Contact person and representative is the WinzerLoge, which is making sure that the communication between the participating parties goes well. Naturally, the lodge vintners are interested in learning as much as possible about wine. To do that, they can participate in regular events and seminars, which are meant to turn them into wine experts and Rhinegau lovers. In return, participants pay an annual fee.
The vintner lodge was lucky to find excellent VDP-wineries as cooperative partners, who are offering their vineyards or parts of their vineyards and take care of the latter on behalf of the lodge vintners - they are:
- Fritz Allendorf
- Johannishof
- Hans Lang
- Baron Knyphausen
The cost of a wine about the same as that of a good Rhinegau Riesling wine, namely approximately 6.30 Euro per bottle. Even when you include all the fees, this is an excellent investment in a very unusual but exclusive experience: Enjoying a wine from your very own vineyard. (red.yoopress)
*Hattenheimer Hassel (Text by Gabriele Lang): "The site Hassel is leaning towards the south and is located about 100 meters over NN. This site was first mentioned in the 14th century as "zu Hasele", named after the Haselnusstrauch. In the 19th century, the name was changed to "hasselt". The grounds consist of deep loess and clay, which is where their good water holding capacity comes from, which enables the plants to turn into excellent qualities".
"The microclimate is still coined by the special warmth of the soil and the wind-protected area. The classified areas of the hassel are fountains are Brunnenlagen, Wisselbrunnen, Nussbrunnen and Marcobrunn directly next to each other. From there you can see over the close-by vineyards and the Rhine-river, which has its widest part exactly there. This river is giving you an impression of the nicest riverside forests ever".
