FRANCE (Paris) - The French movie actor Alain Delon is disposing of his legendary wine stocks, which he had been collecting over decades. As the auction house Cornette de Saint Cyr announced on Friday, the about 1,000 bottles would be put up for auction on November 26 in the Fouquet’s de luxe restaurant in Paris.

The fine drops, some of which date back to 1935, Mr. Delon’s birth year, are worth an estimated 100,000 euros. Amongst the wine are fine drops from Château Latour (1935 to 2006), Château Lafite (1928 to 2007), Château Haut-Brion, Château Mouton-Rothschild (1936 to 2007), Cheval Blanc and Petrus. All the bottles still have their original labels from the movie star’s wine cellar. A cognac Bisquit-Dubouché from the year 1840 alone is said to be worth 500 euros.

The catalogue, which is written in English and Chinese, contains about 600 lots, which are from 80 euros up. According to the auction house Cornette de Saint Cyr, it’s above all British and Chinese wine connoisseurs and investors who will bid for the wines.

Alain Delon, who will soon be 76 years old, had put a part of his art collection up for auction as early as four years ago. In the 1960ies, Mr. Delon became famous through movies like “The Leopard” and “Le Samouraï”. (red.yoopress)
