“Besides the charity idea, wines are clearly in the focus”, Annegret Föllner, ambassador of the VINOFICIO event, explains. “Numerous vintners and wine lovers opened their cellars and donated their treasures for VINOFICIO. Our sincere thanks go to them. And we are proud to tell you as early as today, which rarities are up for auction.”
And the lots are more than respectable: A 1921 Château Palmer Medoc (Margaux appellation), a 1967 Zeller Schwarze Katz Riesling, a 1969 Château Mouton-Rothschild, a 1977 Alsterweilerer Kapellenberg Riesling selection ice wine, or a 2003 pinot noir from the Proschwitz castle wine estate, just to mention a few of the fine drops listed.
The organizers achieved once again to win over Rudolf Knoll, the famous wine journalist and wine author, for this year’s event to put those rarities up for auction in an adequate frame. The experienced wine taster has again put together a number of interesting lots for the auction, which then literally “come under the hammer”.
Interested bidders will find all the details on the web site under the option “OUR LOTS” (see tip). There is also a new area “MY VINOFICIO”, where interested people can choose their favorite wines and lots and note their bids. This year again, bidders can make their personal bid list and, thus, comfortably make absentee bids.
“The VINOFICIO 2012 is, however, is also for good cause”, Annegret Föllner explains. “Proceeds goes to the Deutsche Kinderschutzbund (German Child Protection League) and to the Rollimaus project in Dresden.” Christine Clauß, Saxonian state minister for social affairs and consumer protection, will again take over the patronage for the charity event.
So, interested wine lovers should memorize August 17, 2012. “It will pay for itself - this event is even included the royal calendar of Katharina Fritze, Saxony’s wine princess”, Annegret Föllner says. “And even Gunther Emmerlich, together with the Dresden Swing Quartet, has already confirmed his coming.”
Whoever is not able to be present at the wine auction in the Volkswagen transparent factory in Dresden, can take the opportunity to participate in the tasting dinner in the evening. For more information about the event, please read the web site. (red.yoopress)
