GERMANY (Neustadt / Weinstrasse) - The deadline for the MUNDUSvini BioFach International Organic Wine Awards has been extended to November 12, 2010. “With this short-term decision,” said Chris Meininger, managing director of the Meininger Verlag and MUNDUSvini: “we respond to the current harvest situation. Thus, producers still have some time to register their wines to the competition, and thus a chance to be presented as awardee at BioFach”.

Producers can submit their organically produced still, sparkling, semi-sparkling and liqueur wines for two more weeks. Interested producers can find registration information in the “TIPP” - section below the article.

The submitted samples will be tasted by an international jury of experts, composed of renowned and experienced tasters from around the world, on December 9th and 10th, 2010 in Neustadt/Weinstrasse. The evaluation is based on a 100-point system is founded on a olfactory and gustatory sample and on an individual score assessment in compliance with the guidelines requested by the OIV and the International Association of Oenologists (UIŒ).

The winners will be presented with awards on February 16th, 2011 within the realms of the official exhibition tour of the BioFach in the exhibition Center of the Nuremberg Fair. (red.yoopress)
