"This year has been very good," says Pierre Aguilas, winemaker and president of the "Salon des Vins de Loire". "The overall quality is perfect; the grapes are in a healthy condition. Such a harvest is very rare. I am certain that the 2009 vintage will be exceptional."
More than 9,000 visitors spread across 585 producers from the Loire Valley who presented wines from 68 appellations d´ Origine Contrôlée at the last wine fair in February 2009. This year, the number of visitors is expected increase even more, not only because of the interest showed in the 2009 vintage. Over 40 treaties, which were finalized with merchants from the USA, Russia and China, but also from Switzerland, Italy, Norway and Canada last year, also show that the "Salon des Vins de Loire" has meanwhile received international recognition.
