GERMANY (Oberbergen) - The vintner's association Oberbergen was able to finish off their wine year and its vintage 2010 at a very early date, namely in early December. Monday night the sky was clear and it was cold as temperatures kept going down - cold enough for picking Icewine grapes in Oberbergen.

At measured temperatures of -9°Celsius, the Icewine picking was started at a previously determined vine site iwith White Burgundy early Tuesday morning.

The result: 400 liter Oberbergen Baßgeige Pinot Blanc Icewine with a must weight of 170° Oechsle - the culmination of a small but good amount of the 2010 vintage, which is treated as a "big rarity", according to the vintner's association. (red.yoopress)
