FRANCE (Apremont) – The sparkling wine producers of the French Savoy wine growing area can already prepare to write the term “crémant” on their labels in the future. This signal has now been made by the ministry for agriculture. This extension, which has been hoped for, was also confirmed by the regional vintners association. Accordingly, producers are officially allowed to call their sparkling wines “crémant” from the 2014 vintage on. Due to the strict production regulations the first crémants will be brought to market as late as in 2015.
