Business enterprises (Negociant) in Bordeaux rebuying wines

FRANCE (Bordeaux) - Currently the first Bordelaise Négociants (trading houses) are rebuying certain wines of namable French Châteaux in order to be able to satisfy the demand from Asia. According to the French agency AFP, wine from Great Britain, in particular, is rebought by the vintagers.

The reason: all over Asia, and especially in China, there is increased demand for wine of  renowned châteaux at the moment. Thereby the trading firms benefit from the high exchange rate of the euro that facilitates the buyback of the bottles from the currency areas of pounds and dollars. (aw.yoopress)
