Orders from 2003 and 2005, so-called subscriptions, have not been met as of yet. The wines in question are deliveries of vintages 2006 and 2007 by Carruades de Lafite, second wine of Château Lafite Rothschild. Despite numerous customer complaints 1855.com has not yet given a statement concerning the matter, not to mention tried to justify these problems.
In June of this year, 1855.com informed its customers that a fee of 58 Euro per shippment would have to be paid and that the deliveries would be there in 3 weeks at the latest. However, despite numerous complaints and requests of customers, the latter are still waiting on their deliveries.
Due to its popularity and insatiable demand in China, the Carruades wine has gone through an enormous price increase in the past few years. In July 2008, 1855.com offered the second wine by Château Lafite for 480 euro - today it is sold on the market for up to 4.300 euro.
Upon request, 1855.com had its administrator, Fabien Hyon, announce that there were problems with processing customer's orders and that the shipements on hold would be sent out the same month. "We will concentrate on the outstanding deliveries. Our customers will receive their wines by December 31, 2010", said Hyon.
Similar promises were given by the company in January 2009. Then, the founder and President, Emeric Sauty de Chalon, sent a letter to all waiting customers, apologized for the bad service and promised to expedite the shipping of the ordered items.
