SPAIN (Madrid) - The Spanish Hollywood star and winery owner Antonio Banderas wants to invest even more in the wine business. After the purchase of his winery in Northern Spain he is now thinking about building a small hotel there as well, in order to attract even more wine lovers, says the 49-year-old in an interview with the Spanish newspaper "El Mundo" on Sunday.

He is also thinking about giving seminars, for example about the topic wine and literature - he simply wants to boost wine-tourism, he says. His winery at the Duero river, which he had bought 50 percent of in March, is the perfect place for that, he says.

The winery Anta Banderas, which is larger than 250 hectares, produces red and Rosé wines. Besides the vine types Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, domestic Tempranillo-vines are grown there as well. Bandera's winery currently produces about 600.000 bottles of wine each year and according to him, the amount could be increased to two million bottles without any risk of quality loss.

Banderas played a role in the movie "Philadelphia", which received an Oscar. He has been married to the American actress Melanie Griffith since 1996 and together they have daughter. (aw-yoopress / translator c.siegel)
