AUSTRALIA (Sydney) – Incorrect wine data and complicated user interfaces are the cause of more than 60 percent of complaints about existing wine apps for the iPhone. The new Corkscore app solves all these problems with a clean wine data, simple user interface and a smart “magic search”.

“All wine websites and applications are experiencing trouble with chaotic wine data, errors in names and so on”, says Lars Herold, executive director at Corkscore.com. “According to a survey by VinTank, 60 percent of info about wine on the websites of the two largest players are incorrect. If this is accompanied by a complicated user interface, these websites go down. We realized pretty quickly that we need to solve this problem immediately: with a clean wine database and a smart search option.”

Corkscore.com is generally completely different than other websites and apps. The company has editors all around the world that work on the decent wine database. All the exact wine info was researched directly from thousands of vintager websites. In addition, Corkscore validates every data entry that the app gets. The result is a clean, versatile wine database with user prices for more than 130.000 wines from Germany, other European countries, the United States, Australia and New Zealand. The database is regularly updated and enhanced.

Also, the app uses the magic search function created by Corkscore. Usually, you only have to type in the first five letters and the app will find the wine, vintager or region you are looking for. “If you enter 'Niers' for example, it will automatically take you to Nierstein, where wines, vintagers and other areas are organized systematically”, says Herold.

Corkscore.com is a free app for wine lovers for organizing and searching for wine information and prices directly during the purchase or consumption of a wine – through the iPhone, cell phone, web, text message or email. (aw.yoopress)
