Wine blogs have become the most important and fastest medium of the wine industry, the wine world has moved closer together. “For the ÖWM, this step gives us the chance to present Austrian wine, its diversity and many current issues in a informal way”, says Klinger with joy. “Thus we can attract new audiences, even more up-to date and faster than ever before.”
The ÖWM uses Facebook or Twittr to give information on events and to invite to tastings, movies or interviews, presentations of the winegrowing regions, tips and discussions on wines. “The web 2.0 offers ways of communications which are more flexible and selective, and which the ÖWM has now opened up to,” says Klinger.
Facebook is said to be the number one among all platforms, says Klinger. “Smaller and larger wine news are posted and discussed there, people chat and groups are established to get things done,” says Klinger. “The Austrian Wine Marketing Board puts emphasis on that in the web 2.0 and looks forward to many Facebook friends and lively discussions.” (red.yoopress)
