The Freyburg vintners association is heading for success under the guidance of Dr. Gerald Lange

GERMANY (Freyburg) - Apparently, Freyburg at the river Unstrut is a good hot spot if you want to be successful with wine. After having surmounted the first difficulties after the German reunification, the Rottkäppchen - Sektkellerei recorded one success after another. Today, it is the most significant sparkling wine producer in Germany. Another company, which also regained its strength, has recently celebrated its 75th anniversary, in the huge event location of the sparkling wine producer.

The Freyburg vintners association, which had experienced a lot of downs in 1990 and in the years afterwards, has been really successful for some years under firm guidance (Dr. Gerald Lange). 474 members, who are cultivating over 350 hectares, are urged to strictly reduce the yields in the vineyards, but they receive good payouts. Apart from conducting a visually good presentation in the salesroom, attention was particularly paid to using a modern and indulgent technology when building a new cellar (7.2 million Euros of investment). Mack & Stühle, which turned out to be a good sales partner for the West German market a couple of years ago, sold the wines of Freyburg at reasonable prices throughout Germany.

Norbert Weber, president of the association Deutscher Weinbauverband e.V., and German wine queen Marlies Dumbsky also congratulated on the anniversary celebration. The official speech was held by Rudolf Knoll (Vinum), the first West German wine journalist who did research in the GDR precisely 25 ago and who immediately continued to do so after the German reunification.
