SPAIN (Jerez) - A new Internet shop offers one of the most comprehensive collections of sherries. Los Vinos de Jerez is a privately financed initiative, which calls itself “the first of its kind”, and it is approved by the regulatory authority. The name is, however, not quite correct because the shop also offers wines from the Rioja, Ribera del Duero and Castile regions as well as cava, champagne, rum, whisky, gin and further products. But it is correct that this shop really offers an amazing range of sherries.

The array of Los Vinos de Jerez contains a total of 223 sherries from 16 cellars, among them being 27 Finos, 30 Manzanillas, 31 Amontillados, 48 Olorosos, 13 Palos Cortados and 34 Pedro Ximenez. Some of them are rather famous, whereas others are very rare, even historic. The cheapest sherry is a Fino Mira la Mar von AECOVI, which costs 3.15 euro, and one of the most expensive ones is the Barbadillo Reliquia, which costs 183 euro.

Apart from the Reliquia sherries, there is a great deal of further old and rare sherries, as well from outside the region. Among them, there are the sherries from Sanchez Romate, Victoria Regina Oloroso from Díez Merito, and Maestro Sierra Palo Cortado. Further well-known names are Gonzáles Byass, Garveys and Luis Caballero & Lustau. (red.yoopress)
